Donkey Mill Art Center is a popular community center that brings together residents across North Kona to learn, connect, share and foster relationships with the surrounding art community of Hawai’I Island. Located off the old highway just a few miles south of Holualoa town, the charming art center is surrounded by coffee farms and inspiring views. Their vision is to “establish West Hawai’I as a model of a resilient, thriving community where art is considered a necessity, not a luxury.” Donkey Mill offers classes, events, workshops, and rotating exhibits for all ages and skill levels – so there is something for everyone! Currently, we love their Donkey Mill has an ongoing rotation of exhibits and right now we love their Emergence: Young Artist Exhibition which features local artists from ages 6 -16. We also love Donkey Mill’s dedicating to educating and displaying Hawaiian culture through a variety of traditional art forms.
Donkey Mill hosts annual events that are known across town like the Festival of 1,000 bowls the Pua Na Pua Arts Festival, and the Annual Art Auction.
