This holiday season, the LUVA Oahu ohana supported the RYSE organization in Kailua– Residential Youth Services and Empowerment (RYSE), a non-profit organization that provides safety and help to youth aged 14-24. RYSE operates a youth access center and shelter service that is open from 8 AM-8 PM seven days a week. There are different programs and services offered by RYSE Hawaii including shelter & housing, medical clinic & behavioral health, education & employment, and outreach & diversion. Their access center also offers food, hot meals, showers, laundry, WiFi, hygiene supplies & more for youth to drop in any day of the week.
There are a few ways that you can help support RYSE Hawaii. They have an Amazon wish list that you can find here that includes basic household items. You can order directly through Amazon and have it shipped directly to the center. Another option is to purchase in-kind donations and drop off at the service center yourself. You can find the list of items that they are always in need of here. Another option is to make a financial donation which allows RYSE to “invest in programs and services that create pathways for youth to end the cycle of homelessness.” You can find out more about making a financial donation here.
