Whether you are a full-time resident or just passing through, there are plenty of fun ways to spend a day or two in Kailua! Kailua is a beautiful beach town located on Oahu’s Windward Side, with plenty of things to do and see. It also happens to be the location of our Oahu office, where we have a team of 13 agents! Here are some fun suggestions for things to do while in Kailua:

  1. Visit Lanikai Beach: This stunning beach located in the neighborhood of Lanikai in Kailua is famous for its soft white sand and turquoise waters, perfect for swimming, sunbathing, and snorkeling.
  2. Kayak to the Mokulua Islands: Located just off the coast of Lanikai Beach, these two picturesque islands are both part of the Hawaiʻi State Seabird Sanctuary. Rent a kayak in Kailua and paddle out to “the Mokes” to enjoy a stunning view looking back to Lanikai.
  3. Hike the Lanikai Pillbox Trail: Also known as the Kaiwa Ridge Trail, this popular hike has gorgeous views of Lanikai Beach and Mokulua Islands. Bonus if you do this hike at sunrise!
  4. Take a scenic drive: The Pali Highway offers stunning views of the island’s mountains and coastline. Make sure to stop at the Pali Lookout for a panoramic view of Oahu.
  5. Explore Kailua Town: Wander through the quaint town of Kailua and check out its unique boutiques, cafes, and restaurants.
  6. Go windsurfing or kitesurfing: Kailua Bay is known for its consistent winds, making it a popular spot for windsurfing and kitesurfing.
  7. Visit the Kailua Farmers’ Market: Held every Thursday evening, the market offers fresh local produce, delicious food, and live music.
  8. Rent a bike: Rent a bike and explore the Kailua area at your own pace.
  9. Take a yoga class on the beach: Join a beach yoga class at Kailua Beach Park and enjoy the peaceful surroundings while stretching and relaxing.
